Time to post some favorite songs from the road trip. This one: Lucinda Williams and Willie Nelson, singing a duet of Lucinda’s “Over Time.” This has always been a wonderful song, but something about this recording has the power to blanket a room in a tender, wistful quiet. I also love the contrast between Lucinda’s ragged, straining whisper of voice and Willie’s rounded, laconic hum. Too bad I’m not in the midst of a breakup, because this would be a great song to listen to.
