Since I’ve been focusing exclusively on live performance for the last few years and plan to continue doing so, I’m selling my awesome indie digital filmmaking kit. With the exception of a microphone, it includes everything you need to start making short (or hey, even long) films. Here’s what’s in the kit:
- A Canon HFS-100. This tapeless camera shoots 1080p HD video to flash memory. This camera is practically brand new, and has less than 5 hours of use on it. It’s one of the best handhelds available, and it shoots beautiful footage. The only tradeoff is that it doesn’t natively get much depth of field and can’t use professional lenses, which is why this kit also includes …
- … a TwoNeil lens adapter! This lens adapter (the long piece attached to the camera in the photo above) will let you use any 35mm Nikon lens with the camera, giving you beautiful depth of field. Here’s some sample video of what the adapter can do.
- A Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens. This is a great general-purpose Nikon lens that works with the adapter.
- A D-Focus follow-focus and support rods, which lets you focus the Nikon lens from a more comfortable shooting position (essential for long shoots or shot where you want to pull focus.)
- A BeachTek XLR adapter, which lets you use any standard microphone (such as a boo mic) as an audio input for the HFS-100.
- A Canon wide-angle lens, to give you the option of shooting wider-angle scenes. (The silver lens in the image above.)
- Two high-capacity batteries for the HFS-100, so you can shoot longer without recharging.
- A sweet gear backpack to carry all this stuff in.
If you were to buy all these items individually, they’d retail for $2,200. I’m asking for $1,500 for the entire kit, even though barely any of this equipment has been used; I’ll also entertain other offers. I’d also consider breaking the kit up, so if you’re interested in part but not all, still get in touch. Either way, e-mail me at aconover@gmail.com if you’re interested.
