Whoever had the idea to get Gilbert Gottfried to narrate this Shoedini commercial is an advertising and comedy genius. He takes an ad that would otherwise be too dull even to make fun of and injects such manic excitement into it that it becomes totally engrossing and hilarious. Has you ever been as excited about anything as Gilbert is when he says, “It even works on sneakers!”?

The best part is that a few months ago the same company posted another version of the commercial that’s shot-for-shot identical, except that it’s narrated by a generic female voiceover artist. Which means that a few months after producing the ad, someone at Blue Moon had the brainstorm, “Hey, you know what? Our commercial is kind of boring. You know what would make it a hundred times better? If Gilbert Gottfried were saying all these lines instead.
